God Left Me Out – Bible Devotion

Why did GOD leave me out?

At 0508 I woke up and ran to the window…. just as I am imagined I saw NOTHING! The weather channel forecast predicted snow at 5am.  “Wrong again”, I thought. See we live in the heart of the deep south where it NEVER gets cold enough to snow. As a matter of fact it had been 28 years since our last real snow fall.  News of the predicted snow storm had spread to my 3 year old Jaycee. When she woke up her actions mirrored mine. She ran straight to the window only to be quickly deflated by not seeing her winter wonder land that she had dreamed of all night.

It wasn’t long before we started seeing people in surrounding counties posting pictures of their yards covered in snow. Once again Jaycee ran to the window….still nothing. How could it be?? Still NO snow! A few moments later we received a face time call from my sister. Her family was screaming SNOW SNOW!!! LOOK IT’S SNOWING!!! Her grass was now covered in the magical white powder, and her kids were throwing snow balls at each other! You could feel the excitement over the phone line. What you could also feel was the extreme disappointment in my living room. Poor Jaycee had begun to cry, and I have to admit I was a little jealous myself. Why had God given everyone snow, and left us out??

Have you ever been jealous of other people’s blessings?

If we all answered this honestly the answer would be YES! Even as a Christian it is easy to see God blessing other people, and ask ourselves why we are not getting the same reward. Instead of being happy for them, we get jealous. Have you ever prayed for something, only to see someone else get what you thought was “your” blessing? Seems unfair right? Have you ever worked hard for that promotion, to find they gave it to your coworker? Prayed for love, only to see everyone around you getting married? I could go on and on with examples, but the end result is the fact that we have all felt that God left us out.

The point of this story is to tell you God indeed had not left my family out. See we were so quick to pout and become somewhat jealous of others. In all actuality God had planned on giving us our blessing the entire time, we had just given up on him. Within 30 minutes to my amazement I started to see snow flakes dancing in our yard. Before we could even get dressed to go outside our yard was turning into the WINTER WONDERLAND Jaycee had yearned for! Our snow was so perfect it covered our entire property.  We played for hours on end. I honesty can not remember the last time I felt so much joy in my heart. It truly was a perfect day.god left me out- family in the snow

Your Blessing is Coming- God will never forget you

The Bible tell us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

Even though it took longer for our snowfall to come…IT CAME!!! Want to know a secret? It actually even took longer for our snow to melt than my sister’s did. LOL.

Never forget God has a perfect plan for your life! He knows exactly what blessing you need, and the ones you don’t.  Your snow may take forever to come, but I promise it will be perfect, unique, and JUST FOR YOU!!

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

Today I challenge you to stop and think about the many blessings God has given you. Remember all the times you felt left out by God, and then praise him for the unanswered prayers he is blessed you with. Our God is ALL knowing, and forever faithful to us! I hope your day is blessed.
